The Perfect Perfect was founded by Jaclyn McCoubrey and Alia Wilson who have been close friends for years and collectors for even longer.
As a little girl a spritely young Jaclyn collected albums and albums full of Lisa Frank stickers and had one intense rock collection. She would spend hours creating the best "olden day" outfits for playtime-complete with her great grandmothers costume jewelry-and spent most of her childhood art directing fake cooking shows, news programs and advertisements that are all on video somewhere in this universe. In her teenage years she realized all those comments of "you dress weird" translated into you know how to dress fun, further fueling her love for fashion and prop styling. Little Miss Alia was a woman beyond her years, as an unofficial costume assistant for TV shows like America's Most Wanted, and John Watters movies when she was just 13. Not to mention, cutting class and hitting up thrifts stores with her Dad’s stylist girlfriend. This was the begining of her love for thrifting and led to a closet filled with an anxty teenage wardrobe of baby barrettes and every polyester shirt she could find to conjure her inner Drew Barrymore 90s child. With their shared love of making fashion fun and passion for hunting down beautiful unique pieces, a collaboration seemed to organically form. In February 2011, the ladies launched The Perfect Perfect at Williamsburg, Brooklyn’s Artists and Fleas Market, debuting a carefully curated collection of vintage clothing, accessories, furniture, home decor, vintage and vintage inspired jewelry. |
